2018 Mountain Breeze Competition

Submissions for the 2018 Mountain Breeze Literary Journal are due by November 17, 2017.

Seven categories are being accepted:

1. Poetry (must not exceed 100 lines; spacing is at your discretion)

2. One-Act Play (5000 word maximum; double-spaced)

3. Short Story (5000 word maximum; double-spaced)

4. Formal Essay (5000 word maximum; double-spaced)

5. Creative Non-Fiction (5000 word maximum; double-spaced)

6. Devotion (must not exceed 500 words; double-spaced)

7. Art (must be scanned in as a file)

Please remember that only students currently enrolled at Blue Mountain College may submit material. No material may have previously been published elsewhere.

Download an entry form and submit it along with your entry to scribblers@bmc.edu.

The documents must be in Word format (.doc or .docx) and emailed as attachments, not placed in the body of the email.

Fill out a separate form for each submission, unless it is a series of poems designed to be published together. No student may submit more than two separate entries per category.

Sophomores and Freshmen:

To the underclassman who submits the highest quality entry in a category, the Anna Jackson Quinn Award for Creative Writing is given. It was established in 2008 by the Scribblers Club in recognition of Anna Quinn, the Faculty Advisor for the Mountain Breeze from 1992-2006. The award is generously funded by the Quinn family.
