Harvest Festival Fun

The Monday night before Halloween was a very festive night here at Blue Mountain College. October 30th was the night of the college’s annual Harvest Festival. The festival was filled with many booths, games, and a very exciting costume contest.

There were multiple booths set up all around the Sub for students as well as people from the public to enjoy. Booths were set up and run by societies and clubs such as, the Eunomians, the Bereans, the Apple Club, the Modenians, and Koinania just to name a few.

Many of the booths handed out candy to the children that came to BMC’s Harvest Festival. Other booths had games such as corn hole, spike ball, and a cake walk set up for the children and college students to play. There was even a henna booth set up for children and students to get a henna design drawn on their wrists.

The final event of the night was the costume contest. The contest was separated into two parts. The first part was a contest with children from the public. There were children dressed up like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, Neegan from The Walking Dead, and Belle from Beauty and the Beast. The winner of the children’s costume contest was Neegan.

The second part of the contest was with the BMC students. There were many students who participated in this portion of the contest. There were students dressed as Minnie Mouse, Oreo cookies, Doodle SpongeBob, and there was even a group students who dressed like Old McDonald and his farm animals. The winners of the student’s portions of the contest were Hope Howard and Luke Romine who dressed together as a Double Stuffed Oreo.

The annual Harvest Festival was an exciting night for BMC as well as people from the general public. The night was full of many fun filled booths, games, and contests. Thank you to everyone who came out and made this night a success.
