The Candy Cane That Keeps on Giving

The candy cane originated in Germany about 250 years ago. A story says that a choirmaster in 1670 was worried about the children sitting quietly all through the long Christmas nativity service. He invented the candy cane to give to the children, keeping them calm and occupied.

The shape and the colors signify something powerful. The shape can represent either a shepherd's crook or “J’ to represent Jesus.

Also very important and interesting are the two twisting colors of the cane. The white of the cane represents the purity of Jesus Christ. The red stripes are for the blood He shed when He died on the cross.
