As the last of the spring semester draws to an end, the educational journey at Blue Mountain College comes to a close for many of our students. May 4th marks the last day that many of our students will be considered students. On that day, they will join the alumni, a rank that hundreds of people now have.
Graduating seniors, we wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors. You have been our friends, our family, for several years now, and we will miss you greatly. Because it has fallen to you that you will leave the gates of BMC, you now serve as representatives of the school, your church, and most importantly, Jesus Christ. You have the unique opportunity to serve God in the workplace.
As Matthew 5:13-14 commands us to be the “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world,” we must go forward into the world and shine the light of Jesus wherever we go. Now that you are leaving, seniors, you have the chance to live these verses out in an environment that may not know Christ. This is truly a blessing, since you have the chance to spread God’s word to those who may not know it.
For the rest of the students who will remain on the BMC campus for at least one more semester, we hope to see you again very soon. Enjoy your summer vacation, because it will be over before you even know it.
While you are out there in the world, take the same advice that has been given to the seniors: go forward as representatives of Jesus. Even if it’s not your time to join the world as a fully-fledged adult just yet, you still have the duty to be good Christians. No matter what you do this summer, whether you’re going on vacation, on a mission trip or staying at home, remember that you are a child of the King. Stay safe until we see you again!
