Blue Mountain Christian University held its 3rd annual Most Beautiful Pageant on April 11. This year there were 12 contestants competing for the title of Most Beautiful. These contestants walked on the stage individually while their short biography was read. After each contestant had their individual walk, the participating students came on stage in groups of six to pose. After both groups walked, judges excused themselves to make their decision.
While the judges deliberated, freshman Julia McCoy and senior Gavin Coles provided the audience with entertainment. Julia sang while Gavin played the guitar. After their entertainment Alyssa Cooper, the night’s MC, made some jokes to fill the space while the judges were deciding.
Once the judges made their decision Alyssa announced the winners, beginning with the Scholastic and Most Photogenic Award winners. The Scholastic Award was given to the girl with the highest GPA. This year it was awarded to three of the participants: Sarah Martindale, Ashtyn Smith, and Madelyn Whitfield. The Photogenic Award was given to the girl with the best submitted photo. This year, the award was given to London McAdams.
The pageant concluded with the final crowning of the winners. These included Ashtyn Smith as BMCU Most Beautiful and Sarah Martindale, London McAdams, Mia Spotts and Abbie Jones as BMCU Campus Beauties. Each of the campus beauties received a bouquet of flowers and Smith received a crown, sash, and flowers for her title as BMCU Most Beautiful.
