BSU Fall Conference Fun
Blue Mountain Christian University students had a blast at the Baptist Student Union Fall Conference over the weekend of September 27-28. Across the two days, students heard a strong message based in Ephesians regarding prayer and reliance on God from Dr. Tom Richter. They also experienced a great deal of worship by the Visible Worship Collective. Ultimately, if two things were abundantly clear, it was that the presence of God was surely evident and that hearts were made full by the exciting fellowship that took place.
Dr. Tom Richter’s message was on the subject of prayer, and just how powerful it can be. It was centered around Ephesians chapters 3 and 4, utilizing the verses to explain how prayer is more that just a way to ask for things. His illustration utilizing a ladder was especially moving, showing just how far prayer can go. The student body that was gathered was quite responsive to the message that he brought to the conference.
Brianna Wilder had a lot to say regarding the BSU Fall Conference. When asked about what she personally got out of the experience, she shared that “[her] main takeaway from this weekend was the fact that Jesus, because His great love “that surpasses knowledge,” truly wants to dwell in [her] and to fill [her] with His fullness.” Bethany Hitt also had insight regarding her experience at the BSU Fall Conference. The key thing she is taking away from the conference are the stories that the students shared on stage. She says that “[she thinks] that sometimes [she] forgets how trying the mission field can be,” but followed up to share that “these students told us of the hardships and the joys [that] they encountered in the countries or states where they served.”
If all of this information makes you feel as if you missed out on the experience, never fret. There will be another conference coming during the spring 2025 class semester. Brianna additionally wanted to share that “[She] would encourage anyone wondering if they should go to the Spring Conference coming up or a BSU Conference sometime in the future to just go for it! You won’t regret the opportunity it gives you to get to know people and spend time truly digging into the Word and worshipping with fellow believers!” Bethany also sought to encourage other people to attend next year’s conference, stating that “whether you are looking to have another intentional time of worship, learn more about God’s word, or have a refreshing time of fellowship, you will get a lovely dose of each of these!”
