Madness on the Mountain

There is no season like Basketball season here at BMCU! What better way to celebrate one of our most competitive sports than to have some basketball Madness! Mountain Madness was an event that took place October 14th at 8pm in BMCU’s famous Tyler Gymnasium.

This event was full of memorable activities that were team interactive and student interactive. These team lead activities included games such a dunking contest, dribbling, trivia and even a game of students vs coaches at the end! During these games, they were also giving away lots of goodies such as candy for winning games and even throwing t-shirts and candy into the large crowd of students. The whole gym was filled with excitement and joy while showing off BMCU’s incredible basketball teams. The volume was turned all the way up in the gym as they were playing music, cheering, hyping teams up and more. The event as whole was organized for pure BMCU fun and was a good break from work for most students. Faculty was also very involved with the students during this time, making it a fun interaction between them.

I interviewed one of BMCU’s many talented basketball players, Izzy Carlson, who is a junior. I asked Izzy what she liked about mountain madness to which she responded, “I liked how we were able to get everyone involved and have some fun in the gym. I also liked the energy that everyone brought and the overall atmosphere.” Many can agree as the atmosphere inside the gym was very exciting. The gym was filled with the teams and students’ outstanding cheering. Izzy said she is very excited to see what God has in store for this year’s basketball season!

We want to thank the basketball teams for getting students involved in this fun event and getting everyone excited for this year’s season. The ball is in the court of our university, and we aim to do our very best to bring BMCU victory on victory. We pray this season that all teams do their best and know that they are making BMCU proud in all they do! We can’t wait for this season and what God has in store for our amazing teams.
