Students Making Disciples of All Nations
Students at Blue Mountain Christian University, formerly known as Blue Mountain College, are getting ready to spread the Gospel through missions. There is currently a mission trip scheduled during spring break where students will be heading to Phoenix, Arizona. Tracy Moser is in charge of all things Missions related on Campus. She stated that this is a great opportunity for students to step out of their comfort zone and grow in their faith. She said that 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Shooting for Greatness
The women’s archery team here at BMCU is aiming for the Las Vegas Shoot tournament on February 2-3, 2023. The team will land in Las Vegas and might get to do some sightseeing, such as the Grand Canyon or Hoover Dam, according to Couch Humphrey. However, what they are really aiming for is to head to the Las Vegas Shoot to compete as a collegiate team in a tournament that is open to nearly anyone on the planet. Coach Humphrey is only taking six of his best scoring college arche

Learning to Serve
Service projects are an important part of communities because they allow students to give back to people that are in need. Blue Mountain Christian University teaches that loving our neighbor as ourselves is one of the most important lessons of the Bible. The Freshman, Sophomore and Junior classes will be doing a food drive in Ripley that will provide food for the less fortunate and allow the students of BMCU to practice showing God’s love in tangible ways. The senior class wi

A Time for Something Old
The Union County Heritage Museum has an annual Pioneer Day, where volunteers come to help young students learn about the history and lifestyle of past generations. Booths set up both inside and outside the museum teach students about the toys, food, work and play that was common during the Pioneer period. Each of these booths are run by local history lovers who give their time to the project to share this passion with schoolchildren. This year several students from Blue Mount

Choose a Game
There are fewer intramural sports events this year than last year for students, according to Dean Ritchey. Cornhole, spike ball, ping-pong, ax-throwing, laser tag, and glow golf have been the sports events offered so far to all students this semester. Dean Ritchey says the college is “trying to offer a variety of activities for all students to participate and get involved in to make the college experience the best it can [be]”. He said there was a kickball event planned as we

A Journal to Remember
The name Mountain Breeze might sound like the cool wind blowing down from a mountain, but it is actually a literary journal published here at BMC that anyone can submit to via a contest every fall for writing submissions. Any student, no matter their major, can submit a work to the Breeze. It publishes once a year in April and allows art submissions as well as written. The class who edits the journal gives all writing and art submissions to a judge: a professional writer pick

Revival Is Here
On October 10th and 11th, Blue Mountain college kicked off its first revival of the school year. Revival happens during both the fall and spring semesters, and the school has extra and extended chapel times. The speaker this year was Ed Newton who has spoken at Revival many times and various other different chapel services. He is the pastor at Community Bible Church in San Antonio, Texas. According to his website, ednewton.com, his main goal is to help the “‘next’ generation

Campus Talent Found
The BMC “Toppers got Talent” show is a favorite tradition of the campus. This year the theme was patriotic, and there were quite a few historic American figures in attendance. The judges for the event included Betsy Ross, George Washington, and an all-American cowboy. The event was run by the ever-capable Oprah, Sargent Christian, Bill Clinton, Thomas Jefferson, the statue of Liberty and her torch. These characters were all played by the SBA council as they ran the event, and

English Club Sees Macbeth Live
The BMC English Club tried something new this semester and took a trip on October 22 to see a live performance of Macbeth. The first destination was Cafe Piazza, a beautiful Italian restaurant with delicious pastas and sandwiches with a beautiful sunset for a view. Afterwards, the club picked up lawn chairs and went out to Collierville Town Square, where they watched the production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. The town square was decorated beautifully, and a Christmas tree was a
